Not to patronize much about Apple products but I commend how this company produces things that their users can feel like “owning’ it’. Recently, another Apple device has been out in the tech market and that is their new ‘Airtags’ –your personalized item tracker. This tiny thing is pretty simple: You add the device to your account, attach it to any object, and the Find Me app will trace where your other Apple devices are.
Attachable Everywhere
This Airtag is easier to keep considering it’s tiny, so you can attach it anywhere ( backpack, wallet or keys). It’s a button-shape metal tracker that keeps you track of losing items. It’s water-resistant so you don’t have to worry if it slips under the sink.
Setup Your AirTag
AirTag works like pairing an AirPods that will only take 20 seconds to set up. After tagging your things, the device will be recognized on your Find Me app which has the advantage of Apple’s U1 chip with an Ultra-Wideband technology to use Precision Finding. This feature relies on camera input, accelerometer and gyroscope, and ARKit to guide your tag through sounds, haptics, and visual senses. You can rename it for a more personalized touch to your device, and after you’re all set.
From there, you can instantly get notifications from the gadget the AirTag attaches to. The AirTag sends a secure Bluetooth signal that can detect nearby devices from your app and see directly on the map. The whole process was anonymously secure to protect your privacy.
Its battery lasts for a year and is replaceable with a CR2032 battery, a coin-like battery that can be found in wristwatches. You don’t have to worry when you replace it because the device itself will notify you when to replace its battery that you can find in most Apple stores nationwide.
With This Device, Finally, The Search Is Over
Survey says that the average person loses nine items daily. An average of 60.5 years of adult life loses 198,742 items and loses 3,689 hours of searching for that item (and that doesn’t include arguing with your partner). Sometimes that item is lost over and over. To avoid misplacing or wasting time looking for that item with Apple’s AirTag just follow the sound and the search will be over. This will be the next generation of effective searching for lost items. The next time you experience misplacing items doesn’t have to be a big deal.
If your AirTag is lost somewhere –visit the Find Me app and tap the “Lost Mode” and turn on the notification to track the missing item. Once you find the item, you can tap your phone or any NFC-compatible device to disable it or you can pull out its battery to reset. There is no way to report it to Apple, but you can report it to the nearest law enforcement if it’s necessary.
Advance Privacy
What is more amazing with this device is that even Apple doesn’t know the location of your AirTag. This end-to-end encrypted network doesn’t let other identities AirTags enable to find your device, this is to discourage another unwanted tracking. If someone accidentally finds your stuff attached on an AirTag, your iPhone or iPad will send you red flags or notify you instantly. However, when you walk with a bunch of people with AirTags, the notification only triggers if the item is separated from its owner.
The discovery of AirTags can reduce our time searching for unseen things and sometimes causes us trouble for the person surrounding us. Truly, it’s best for recovering things that are meters away or maybe hanging around the house.
Compatible Devices
Apple users must have an iOS 14.5 or later device to pair with AirTag. Here are the compatible devices:
iPad Mini 4
iPad Air 2
iPad Pro 5th Gen
iPad Pro 7th Gen
iPhone SE, 6S, or later
Accessories To Attach
AirTag doesn’t come with a detachable sling in it, it’s a purely naked disc, so you’ll need to look for ways or things to stick your device on your stuff. Manufacturers like ESR, Belkin, Nomad, and Hermes are now selling accessories for your AirTags safety. Here are the things you can attach with your AirTags:
AirTag key ring
AirTag silicon keychain
AirTag sunglasses straps
AirTag hard shell mount
AirTag leather loop
Customizable Engraves
After your purchase, the apple store will engrave one face of your AirTag for free. You can choose from alphabets to numbers (zero to 50), and any of the 31 emojis. Since the tag is small you can only select up to four characters to engrave on the back. Afterward, you can see a preview of the finished, personalized design of your tag right away!
AirTag Price
A single AirTag costs $29 (£29, AU$45, PHP1,403) and alas! If you’ll buy it for four packs, you can get it at $99 (£29 or £99, AU$45 or AU$149, PHP 4,792).
